Campfire Arts makes handcrafted, engraved wooden swords that hang on the wall as decor, awards and keepsakes. Every piece is handmade from natural wood in our shop in Caldwell, Idaho, USA, and most can be personalized with names, ranks, units, dates, emblems or a favorite verse. We are the right choice if you want to honor a retirement, promotion, change of command, Eagle Scout or Trail Life award, belt rank, faith milestone or family, and especially if you are ordering a matched set for a whole unit, department, troop, dojo or team. We are not the right choice if you want a functional sword: our swords are decoration only, and they are not toys.
Military
Engraved wooden swords for Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps retirements, promotions and changes of command. Branch designs carry the service insignia and motto, and our wooden gladius (rudis) swords honor the old Roman tradition of giving a wooden sword to a faithful soldier on retirement. Personalize with rank, unit, command, dates or insignia. Shop military gifts or gladius swords.
Law enforcement & first responders
Thin Blue Line gladius swords and wall signs for police officers, sheriffs, deputies and corrections officers, plus designs for U.S. Border Patrol and Thin Red Line swords for firefighters. Scouts & Trail Life USA
Wall swords with the Scout Oath, Scout Law and Scout Motto, Eagle Scout swords and a Cub Scout "Do Your Best" sword, made to present to a scout or scout leader. Campfire Arts also works together with Trail Life USA to make the official Oath, Freedom Award and Way of the Warrior swords for Trailmen and Troop leaders. Ordering for a whole troop? We engrave the same troop information on every sword with a different name on each. Shop scout gifts or Trail Life USA swords.
Martial arts
Karate belt racks built into a wooden katana wall sword, in Dragon, Kirin and Tiger dojo designs. Each belt slides onto the rack behind the katana, which holds up to 12 belts, and the design can be personalized with the student's name for a graduation or new-belt gift. Shop martial arts belt racks.
Faith & family

Teams, organizations & group orders
Custom wooden award swords for tournaments, championships, banquets, employee recognition and events, with your emblem and custom text. Order one or a hundred: same emblem on every sword, a different name on each. Send us your emblem and text and we reply with a quote and a proof of the engraving layout, and quantity pricing is available. Shop awards and trophies, see custom swords, or start a custom or bulk order.
Frequently asked questions
What are Campfire Arts swords made of?
Most of our swords are made of maple wood, with a walnut wood pommel and cross guard, and a genuine leather-wrapped handle. Scout and Trail Life USA swords have paracord-wrapped handles, and the martial arts belt racks are maple with a paracord-wrapped handle. Each piece is stained or clear coated, and because it is natural wood, every sword has its own grain.
Is it a real sword?
No. Our swords are decorative wall art, awards and keepsakes made of wood. They are decoration only and are not toys, so please hang them out of reach of little ones.
Where are they made?
Every sword is handmade in our shop in Caldwell, Idaho, USA.
Can I personalize it?
Yes. Depending on the design, you can add a name, rank, unit, command, department, dates, insignia or a favorite verse or quote. Our gladius swords take up to three lines of text of up to 50 characters each, and extra engraving is available on the back of the sword, the pommel and the cross guard. Please double-check your spelling before you order, because we engrave the text exactly as you send it.
Can I order for a whole unit, troop or team?
Yes, and group orders are a big part of what we do. We engrave the same emblem or group information on every sword with a different name on each. Tell us what you need and roughly how many on our Custom & Bulk Orders page, and we will send a quote and a proof for your approval. Quantity pricing is available, and you pay one invoice.
How does it hang on the wall?
Our larger wall swords come with two rare-earth Magna-Mounts, and the sword locks onto the magnets to hang vertically or horizontally depending on the design. Our gladius swords can be displayed with a separately available 3D-printed desk stand or wall mount. Replacement Magna-Mount kits with drywall anchors and instructions are also available.
How long does a custom sword take?
Custom swords are made to order and typically take 1 to 2 weeks to make, plus up to a week to ship depending on location. Expedited shipping speeds up delivery after your order ships but does not shorten production time, so if you need your order by a specific date, email info@campfirearts.com before ordering.
Where do you ship?
We ship to the US and Canada by UPS, with faster UPS options available at checkout, and APO/FPO and US territory orders ship by USPS. For other countries, email info@campfirearts.com for a quote. Tracking is emailed once your order ships. See our shipping policy for details.
What is your return policy?
Returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase if the item is unused and in the same condition you received it. Return shipping is paid by the customer. Misspellings or mistakes on the customer's part will be considered but may not qualify for a refund. Email info@campfirearts.com to start a return, and see our refund policy.
